“Balance, Fit & Harmony” with Dave Renko of PTD

Setting flag lines & laying down trail with one of Northwest Arkansas’ most-fabled lead trail builders requires strategic intention, thoughtful planning & a flare for improvisation. The Eureka Springs native employs a mantra of “Balance, Fit & Harmony” to sculpt flowy, sustainble contour trails that compliment their natural context without sacrificing stoke. Nearer to the “Traditional Singletrack” end of the spectrum, Renko’s build style highlights the awesome shoreline vistas with minimal corridor disturbances & some heroic treadwork. Completed during Fall 2020, much of Phase 1 provides flowy contour trail extending along the north shore of the “upper jaw of the alligator”, that is Fellows Lake. Spicy TTFs incorporate existing structures including a milk barn, a spring box, and the front porch, root cellar & foundations of historic homesteads scattered above bluffs and hillsides overlooking the lake.
